Very nice cover, with a tired and old looking Pope Pius XII.

Nice cover Phil.

It's a little off topic, but I will mention that for the past several years, western North Carolina has participated in the Honor Air program to take some of our older veterans to the Washington DC World War II Memorial.

This weekend was the 19th and final flight from our area. Over 2000 veterans were able to participate, most of them accompanied by a family member. The flights left early in the morning, spent the whole day in D.C. then returned about 8 or 9pm that same day. So, it made a long day for some of the older guys, but all of them were delighted to be remembered and recognized.

A lot of local individuals, businesses and civic organizations (like Rotary) contributed money and talent to the project.

Anyway, it's not long until Memorial Day, so I'm sharing a little early...

Kirk, nice story and it is always the right time to honor those who have served. Yesterday we had a great event in town honoring Salvatore Giunta. His name was added to the wall at the Home of Heroes as the latest Congressional Medal of Honor recipient.

JimJam -- I don't know what to take from your post, but it is offensive.

You should put it in some sort of context or delete it.
