Had a shopping bag half full with Canada 3cent excise (blue ) and 3cent admirals (3 different issues (shades of red). There are literally a few thousand stamps here , Is anyone interested in or have ideas to use on a mural, art work, or some other project that these would be helpful since there are so many alike? I know its sacralige to use stamps this way but I'd be doing lots of this stuff for a year otherwise. I'll do some pics when I'm done soaking.

nitrolures,
If I had a few bundles of the 3c admirals, I'd do a mosaic/painting of the 3 C admiral in large format for my wall or the local stamp club. (I also heard of people, in the 19th century who were using black, blue and red pennies to make wall paper for their rooms....)

Go here:

you can download software to come up with mosaics that consist entirely of stamps...don't know where to download the patience needed though

I'm not sure the rules on posting links since I'm so new (I'll head over to read right now!), but if you google "'Amanda Hone' stamp bowl", you will see a neat blue/orange bowl made with British machin stamps.

When I was a kid, my dad decoupaged his excess stamps to a cigar box to make a little treasure box for me!

Cou;d see doing a mosaic especially of something stamp related but damn a whole car! Guess it beats using bondo to fill holes. Sad thing is I probably have enough on paper and off to cover a car.
Golles le timbre do you have an idea of how many it would take to do the pc your talking about doing. There are 3 different versions of the 3cent so not sure if there would be enough of 1 type.

Hey nitro.
Check through the admirals. I've just purchased on ebay, in an mint lot, a 3c Admiral with interesting perfs. 12 x 8. It's a 1931 release. I'll post pics when I get it.

All these were used on bank checks as revenues which I found strange. Has to be 2500 3 cent excise stamps and there is probably 3 plus shades of blue. Not missing to many with selvedge to be able to put together a full pane. I have a local lady that has over 1200 bank checks from about 1918-1930 that are loaded with revs and from alot of big name companies that just won't come down on price that I'm itchin to scoop.

A smart girl on another forum suggested doing-up my mail box before I start on the car. I thought it was a great idea and how appropriate to cover my mail box in stamps. As soon as it stops raining I will satrt on it :)
