Questions About German Handstamps And Forms

Hey All,
I have a few odd items of German postal stationery and postal forms I've been trying to sort out and have questions.



What is the purpose of this 1928 form with the postmark on the front? The postmark has a value of 3 pfennig and there's a word below the month I cannot read. I tried translating some of the words, but didn't get far. It's some sort of postal receipt for a fee collected I would guess, but not sure.


I presume this is some sort of shipping label related to registered mail, but not sure. Any clarifications? It's dated to 1950 from the postmark.


This is some sort of unused label. It has full gum on the back, but what is the purpose of it?



The two above I have the same question - what is the text in the red handstamp box? I thought it might be related to Nachnahme (Cash on Delivery), but the text doesn't completely match and neither are clear enough strikes to get a full reading.

Looks like it might be Nachgebühr, meaning postage due.

My German's a little rusty, but it looks like the top one might be an invoice for a book of cards.

Hello, The first one looks like a package label to a machine factory in Hannover. The second one reading down the left side says--Rechung-bill, Steuerrecht-tax law, zur fortsetzung-to continue.The next line reads new violent consequences of 70 cartons and Postschech-Ausgang means post check output. What it all means I don't know. I use Google Translate and it is very good for translating documents etc.Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help to you both. The postage due handstamp make sense now with the manuscript numbers. I've been using web translators too. I found a good one that evens allows you to type the ä ë ö ß and other characters, but all translators have their limits. The second photo is the back of the first one. I'm presuming the 3 pfennig in the postmark is a tax charge. Confirm or deny?

The online translators have problems with some lesser used terms, especially philatelic ones. For example, in pic #2, "Heftfolge" gets translated as "violent consequences"' but it really means something more like a booklet containing a series of cards.

Thanks postmasterGS, that is dood to know. I could not higure out the violent consequences. Do you know of a site that translates philatelic terms?

For German, this site is a good starter, though the Germany Philatelic Society's hard-copy German-English Philatelic Dictionary is even better.

I've had decent success with Google Translate, but for German, you often have to break the compound words down into smaller parts and check out the alternate translations, then piece them together to arrive at the correct translation.

PostmasterGS: Thanks for that German-English link. It does help quite a bit. I use to have a link to a Swiss site that had the terms in four languages side by side - English, German, French and Italian, but cannot find it now. I need to print these things out in case the web sites ceases to be.
