I've said it in other threads, so I thought I would post a few scans to show that I just do whatever the Scott Album people tell me to do.

For example, Mr. Scott put this page in my book and said, "Fill it!" I don't mind that, it's the reason I bought the blank pages:

I feel good about this page. There are several nice stamps on there, including that $5 beauty in the bottom row. But, for some reason, my eye always goes to the green 25-cent Paul Revere. I think it's a nice stamp.

I'm ready to turn the page. But when I do, Mr. Scott says I need to buy another one of those Paul Revere stamps -- this time a coil stamp with no perforations on the top and bottom [you'll have to excuse the fact that I have clear mounts on white pages -- I know it detracts from the image quality].

But hey, I don't want to leave any empty spaces in my nice album. And after all, it's only 25 cents. So, I get one more Paul (and all the other guys too) in coil variety:

NOW, I'm ready to turn the page, move on to new stamps, new topics. But wait, Mr. Scott thinks I better get a PAIR of those coil stamps to prove there are perforations on the left and right side of the stamps, just not on the top/bottom.

Well Gee, Mr. Scott. I've already bought two of those Paul Reveres, but I really don't want to leave any blanks in my nice album. And it's only another 50 cents, so...

Finally, doesn't that look nice. I guess I should be relieved they didn't make me get the $5 Alexander Hamilton in coil and line pair

Oh... by the way, a few years later when the Scott people made album pages for the Prominent American series, they did the same thing to me again with this pretty blue 5-cent George Washington stamp.

And this time, they said, "Get the regular stamp, and then get the one just like it, but where his face is dirty..."

Nice collection. But just wait until you get to the George Washington Stamps of the 21st century ... you're going to need more album pages and maybe even a separate binder to keep them all in!

Kirk, very nice selection of mint US stamps. I envy it and your determination to finish the pages. My pages for this period have MNH stamps in black mounts but still have many holes to fill.

I understand MHC. These are also MNH, but with the combination of my poor scanning skills and the clear Schaufix mounts, it's hard to see the perfs.

WT1 -- I drew the line at 2000. No 21st Century for me

Not even with this attractive new issue?

Those are attractive -- I know there was a bit of controversy about "yet another GW stamp," but I prefer a historical topic to "yet another Year of Three-Toed Sloth zodiac" stamp

Looking at those pages brings back memories of my early collecting days.
The 3c Statue of Liberty and the 4c Lincoln were probably the first US stamps I ever laid my eyes on here in Canada.
Every time we got a letter or postcard from the States either
on of these two were on it and basically I got sick of looking at them.
The other day though I had a close look at the Lincoln and was
amazed at the nice engraving

I really like the design of the 1963 Washington 1213, 1229.
Washington looks quite regal, like a Roman senator.

Very nice, complete pages. Thanks for sharing. I never did get into the pairs or blocks of anything. Singles were just fine.

Kirk, I am also a slave to the Scott layout and presentation. What album are you using? I use an older National and the presentation is much different. I hate the way Scott angles the strip of 10 for example Postal People. Here's my Liberty page, um er minus Liberty on the main page.

Fred -- I'm using a Schaubek album, which I understand is based on the Scott National. Both are owned by Amos now.

Thanks, Rod. I try.

I use all clear mounts too, I prefer them. There are a few where I've had to use black, such as s/s, but I really dislike how they look. I'm collecting stamps, not perfs and in person, it's easy to see.

KirkS,

I drew the line at 2000 as well. My last page in my album is the 2000 New Years Baby sheet. I thought I would celebrate ending the Album as well as ending the year and ending the millennium.

Art

BTW, Congratulations on being a Moderator! When did that happen?

Kirk that 1954 series was still in a time when the stamps were good looking and crisp. The newer ones will be old ones soon enough. - Jeff
