Hypothetically -- I am listing on SCF an item /lot that is intended as a site donation lot where winner is donating the amount to SCF - heres the but-- I ask only for the shipping amount of say $5. All in all it is a transaction of goods yet at the same time being offered as a gift / donation. So technically the amount being donated could or should be gifted but the amount charged for shipping should be treated as a regular transaction . Not trying to split hairs but to be within all proper rules that scenario should be correct?
Paypal fees are a cost of doing business. I have no problem with that. However, like any intelligent business, reducing costs is key. Manipulating the edges of the rules may just be an Australian thing?
Paypal is not perfect but nothing is in this world. All in all it is a benefit, especially in allowing collectors to sell their items without having to set up there own merchant credit card accounts. That allows us to sell lower priced stamps to fellow collectors for plenty more than any dealer would offer to buy.
As for, SCF donations, as a mentioned above I think that is a legitimate use of "gift". Is that correct admin? Or are we paying for a service?
