Hi Brian,
the reply I had when I enquired about 6 years ago:

Dear Sir,

Your stamp is an example of a stamp issued by the GDR Interior Ministry
Central Courier Service for use on confidential correspondence. See:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zentra...dienst_-_DDR

Best Regards
Richard
(I think Mr. Richard Thourain)

I think this is what you're looking for. It may be you have to translate it from German to English via Google. The term "Zentraler Kurierdienst" translates to "Central Courier" by the German Democratic Republic led by the postal service of the East German Interior Ministry:

I believe they are listed in the Michel deutschland specialized catalog. Sold my copies so can't look them up. Sorry

Yes, they are listed in the Michel Specialized. They are also know by the acronym ZKD. They are like official stamps, but primarily for interdepartmental use, and with different levels of "security/confidentiality". There are a couple of older threads on SCF about these stamps.

Brian,
As mentioned in earlier posts, those are "ZKD" officials. They look like they are pre-1960. Michel Specialized lists a lot of variations. In MNH condition they list from a few to a couple of hundred Euro. Definitely worth checking out if you are going to sell them.

Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example.

Thanks all for the info. Scott does list some of these under DDR Officials, but gives little useful information on them.

I have yet to sell anything in my collection but I still want to know what things are and what they're worth. Thanks for the input!

Here are some,
If members could advise Stanley Gibbons Numbers please,
or just years?

They defy my complete DDR stamp database,

for example the 20pf I searched on
airman
soldier
pilot
7th (anniv)
S.E.D.

nothing

I also had a 20pf bighorn sheep
finally found it under "mouchon"
(I should have searched using zoo)

These are SCF members scans, not mine
but would like to ID them

Rod,

Sorry I can't supply the SG numbers but I can give you some information on those stamps:

1. November 1980. Scott # 2148, Michel 2565 depicting the small gauge railroad line between Bad Doberan and Kühlungsborn.

2. April 1967 Scott 905, Michel 1271. 7th Congress of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany.

3. These are "ZKD Officials" They aren't specifically listed in Scott but in Michel they are "Dienstmarken - C" Laufkontrollzettel des ZKD. (Literally "operation control" I call them "route tracking" stamps.) The ones you show are from 1963. That series had 15 stamps. The abbreviation in the upper left corner tells you where they are from:

Shl - Suhl, Michel 14
Gra - Gera, Michel 6
Rst - Rostok, Michel 13
Mbg - Magdeburg, Michel 10
Cbs - Cottbus, Michel 2
Pdm - Potsdam, Michel 12

4. November 1974 Souvenir sheet, Scott 1592, Michel 1991 -94. Young Pioneers

5. These are semi-postals, Scott B15 -16, Michel 248, 249. for the 1950 Leipzig Spring fair. Here's a little write-up from my album:

Hope this helps!

Dan

Thanks ladies and gentlemen.
It's nice to see how and where my database failed.

No1 = no excuse, the scan was not big enough to
detect the script on the stamp, otherwise I would have nailed it.

No2 = poor listing description "servicemen" which I didn't think of
however, I should have searched for "Engels"
that would have picked it up.

No4 = I searched "children" but flew under the radar.
once again poor listing details
no mention of "pioneers"

N05 the semi postals were not in my database.

Thanks again!
