I was looking around some old stuff of mine and came across a partial booklet of old stamps. Have been trying to figure them out all day and believe them to be 1908 Benjamin Franklin one cent. In the set (or book) there are the following: In book: 2 sets of 6 stamps each and one group of 2 (I believe the groups of 6 are called panes?) Loose: one group of 2, 2 loose singles, one loose with a hinge? The book is pretty rough and the cover is torn. I scanned them but they will not post as I guess they are in the wrong format. Don't know what to do with them, value, ideas? If requeseted I could email attachments to anyone interested. I'm not a collector and live in Canada. Any ideas or info appreciated. Thx. Frase
No. They are green, Franklin is looking to the left, the only writing is "US Postage" (on the top) and ("One cent") on the bottom. Franklins head is in a circle and surrounded by ivy. I don't think they aqre worth much but the fact that they have never been used and there are a couple of "panes" may make them somewhat value. Don't really know where to start. Wish I could post them but may try again another day. Again, any info appreciated. Thanks. frase
Thankyou everyone for your responses and assistance. Too bad they weren't some of those worth $100,000. or so! Your responses are appreciated by persons like myself whose interests are in other things and don't really no what to do with "stuff" you have lying around. Now all I have to do is decide what to do with them - probably sell them or give them to the kids and they can deal with the "stuff". If stamp collecting is not a hobby which I persue, why keep them, let someone else enjoy them. Thanks again frase Frase
