I am looking at a stamp on ebay that the seller is listig by a Michel number. It is Michel number 207. Could anyone tell me what issue this is with the year, perfs and watermark details. I can then translate this to a Scott number and know what stamp it is. Is this Scott number 443?

Thanks in advance.

In Michel terms that points to 1914/16 1c green Washington with single line USPS-watermark.
But the catalog number can (and should) have a combination of suffixes that specify the printing, perforation etc more accurately. So with these details it's impossible to say if it's Scott#443.

So that would make it Scott # 452. Thanks so much. Don't think I will bid on it as I think it is over priced.

Not necessarily.

With Michel all 1c green Washingtons with single line USPS watermark are Michel#207. And You definitely should not rely on years alone, as Michel very likely has them differently than Scott (or Gibbons).

If it's Michel 207 K,207 N or 207 O, then it's from the sheet.
If it's Michel 207 L or 207 M, then it's from roll / coil.
If it's Michel 207 D , then it's from the booklet.
Suffixes X or Y define the watermark position, suffixes P or W define the printing.
And... (this could make a very long list)

on rechecking the listing the number is given s Mi 207 M, so it appears to be the coil. I wasn't aware that the M after the number had significance. I guess it is a way of conserving space in the catalog. Although, it would seem to be simpler just to list the coils separately. Thank you again.
