I found this photo rather comical looking of a "small" post office (and it's pretty busy, too!) I don't think post offices come much smaller than this, except perhaps for the mobile units. In any case, this photo was accompanied by the caption "Still Too Big" as it relates to the US Postal Service's financial dilemma:

Wt1, thank you for the link, most informative. In NSW Australia our Post Offices are closed on weekends, to save the USA Postal Service the five day week proposal should implemented, immediately. Nothing can run at loss and be successful,IMO.

One good thing is that it has a hurricane shutter. That's not an awning. But then again a breeze can knock that down.

I have an image somewhere where the PO fitted inside a handbag.
...and it handled an area bigger than the US.
