OK this is the one that I just bought this morning and I'm very stoked about it! I adore this design.
It's a Scott# 69

Right now I have my eye on a #70 however, I am going to refrain from any hasty purchase over $100. at this point in the game at least not without consulting an expert or fourm member. I am willing to bet a member/seller here could do better than $135.00 for a #70, if so maybe next month we could do business?

Sorry to have miss read your post. When I first read it I thought you were hunting for a #69, then I saw that you are hunting for a #70. Unfortunately, at present, I only have one #70 in my inventory and it is listed on my sales site. It is one of the lesser common issues being a "violet thin paper" with a Scv over $2500.00. If you like, I will keep an eye out for something that might fit your needs. Is there a particular color that you are looking for?

Thank you TheSeal619 for the offer though very thoughtful! Indeed I could drop that kind of cash on said stamp BUT if I did it would stand out like a sore thumb in my collection. I have a very nice F-VF canceled/used collection for my early Americans anyway and I usually try to buy mint singles or plate blocks of issues (especially my favorites) after the 1940's. Call me crazy but I actually prefer used early stamps that, as another S.C.F. member said so eloquently "That has done it's postal duty" and I'm also starting to get infatuated with postal cancels and that end of it now as a result of reading some posts on the subject. Sorry for being so long winded today.

seal my 69 is not as nice as yours.. the design meets the perfs (just barely) on two sides. I have it down that I paid 11.49 for my 69..

Here are two new grills I received in the mail today-- one that looks like the 69's earlier, but it's got an "E" grill on it-- #90



Centering is off, but it's a grill-- really tough stamp, I bought for $37.25, and it's absolutely sound,(1 short perf on the top). So I'm totally OK with the centering.

Then, the #86--



Again, really tough stamp, totally sound, great color, and I can live with the centering for the $56 I paid for it...

I was really pleased that both have very clear, strong grills, and I had to spend some extra time with the #90 because the first time I counted the vertical points, I counted 18-- that would have been totally COOL to find a "Z" grill by chance, but was just an error on my part.

For y'all who appreciate the classics.....I was REALLY hoping to find 18 points on the #86, but of course there were 17.

Funny that that extra grill point north and south makes a difference between $575 CV in Scott's and $3,000,000!!

How 'bout this one I received today--



Fault-free US #15, Type III, $200 Scott CV.
In the online version of the Scott Quarterly, $50 for VG and $85 for Fine. Not a 4-margin copy, but has 3 margins, and I paid $22.15.

Seems like I've found some really great prices lately on ebay for the classics- again, I don't have gem copies, but sound at really reasonable prices. (Except the 491 I posted a couple of weeks ago WAS a gem...).
