Help With Paperboy Stamp

Does anyone have information on this stamp? Is the symbol over the paper boy just the used stamp marking?

Minimum value. <1c used and, if I had it mint it would be in the to use postage box.

The cancel is a normal duplex cancel. The semi circle on the left is part of the postmark, which would have had the date and location of use. The cancel on the right is, well, the cancel, used to invalidate the stamp. Part of the cancel happened to fall on the boys face.

The stamp is Scott #1015 issued October 4, 1952. The "symbol" over the paperboy is part of a "duplex cancel" which was a popular cancellation device during that time period.

The entire cancellation would have looked something like this:
