Hi everyone. I would like any available information you might have on these Uganda stamps. These were part of a shoebox of stamps I bought for $5.00. I may sell them; although I am leaning towards keeping most of them. I would like to know the year of issue, approximate value, or anything else that you can offer. Thanks everybody! I am so glad I found this sight; I am learning so much about these stamps.

This set (actually, for Kenya, Uganda & Tanganyika) was quite heavily used, and has many varieties of shade, perforation and watermark, as well as some varieties affecting the printing plates.

The 1 Cent value is particularly complex, with four different shades, a watermark error (which should be '[Crown] CA', but exists with the 'C' of 'CA' missing), and some plate varieties that go up to £80 used. We'd need the biggest scan you can do of this stamp alone, in order to check for the plate varieties.

The 5 Cent is the only uncomplicated stamp. Gibbons catalogues it at 50p.

The 10 Cent also exists perforated 14; this is listed at £7.50. The normal stamp is a minimum value 10p. Finally, there is also an inverted watermark (should be [Crown] CA upright), which must be rare - it's not priced.

The 15 Cent exists with two perforation gauges: 13¼ (55p) and 13¾ x 13¼ (£3.75). There is also a rare missing 'C' in the watermark, as for the 1 Cent.

The 20 Cent exists with three perforation gauges, ranging in value from 10p to £1.75, and also with a rare inverted watermark.
