Indeed, I once watched two Indian fellows
compete over a penny black at an Ace Stamp auction in Perth.
The amount was piddly by world standards
around $1,500 but, I must say it was exciting,
start bid was around $85 IIRC.

Personally, I way prefer to bid here than on a site like ebay. It's far more friendly and there isn't the same mentality that ebay generates.

And at the same time, there are fantastic discussions on stamps, as well as excellent help when you need it.

That's the real reason I joined this site.
