Is there a place to purchase old unopened letters/covers?
I'm hoping to buy a lot but I might have to go individual at first.
thanks Brian S

I've only been lucky enough to find one unopened letter so far, I opened it and was thoroughly disappointed...... just a stiffener! I seem to have good luck getting entires over on Delcampe, but have never thought of specifically looking for unopened letters! Good luck with your hunt! Should be fun! Have a Good One, Skilo54 |

I've come across a few that have never been opened including some unopened aerogrammes. Then there's the ones in which the envelopes "reseal" themselves as the gummed flap is reaffixed from pressure and/or humidity. So far most of the truly unopened ones were more modern - commercial, contest entries or philatelic. I did have a batch of Russian ones from the late 1980's that were from a penpal exchange. They had letters written in English with enclosed photos. I feel bad as I know their messages were never received and didn't get a penpal through the "penpal" service. |

Ah, those letters from Russia.
I had put a free add in a paper in Germany with my address back about 1990.
Somebody in Russia grabbed my name and address and distributed it in Russia as a guy looking for a wife.
I received hundreds of letters, most with photos. Tough to explain to a girlfriend. Many came Registered, so off to the post office on my day off to pick up unwanted mail.
Would be funny if it wasn't kind of sad somebody was scamming those girls.
I tossed stacks of them when I got married. Easier than explaining to the bride. |

I have lots of unopened business correspondence returned mail.I do know what is inside because I have lots of same correspondence that was opened.Mostly stock market related with returned covers sporting more postmarks/cancellations.I find it interesting because it is real life . |

I opened a couple only to find stiffeners. Another one had a set of stamps. Mostly now I look through them with a strong light. One cover I sold on ebay not realising it was sealed until I was posting it. I always wondered if that one had some goodies inside. |
