From what I can see , underneath the stamps, they are affixed to the thick paper by a bit of glue. No hinges evident. Haven't taken them off (soaked) yet. Wonder if I should?
I think I will delay and watch a few on
ebay and see what happens there. A bit of research is needed.
I think it was a wonderful idea to include a small collection ('le petit collionneur' Google translates as The Small Collector) with their small collection of fine chocolates, or fine chocolate, as I notice they sold by larger amounts (300 grams) than just by the tabelette.
I wonder at the double vanilla and triple vanilla mentioned. Was not vanilla considered to be an aphrodisiac at times (even now). Would this product have been aimed at the man wooing the prospective wife to perhaps see the particular man in a more favorable light?
The stamps all seem to be Fine to Very Fine themselves, the bent corners and attached paper pieces being from storage. You wouldn't want to supply poor quality stamps with your superior super fine chocolate to leave a bad taste in the mind now would you? One must supply quality with quality. Ingenious.
I may have found another collecting interest in these and in other collectibles from the same source like the picture cards.

Again with the vanilla. I am suspicious.
There are posters from Felix Potin company also, one on linen recently sold at Christie's for $716; although cheaper versions of the same can be had for $50 or so.
