I'm concerned about the cancellation on top cover. The stamp on cover is a Scott type # A25 that were 1st issue 1861. It appears to me that cancel is dated 1856. The 2nd cover dated 1866, could be a 64, 64a, 64b, 65 or even a 65e. I not a color expert!
Hello If you look through the threads that have been posted here you will find tons of information that will aide you in identifying Scott U.S. A25 series stamps. As far as color ID it is most difficult and you will need to post higher quality scans. As you your read the other threads you will come to realize just how difficult a task it is. Warrehouse-- nice catch on the 1856 cancel. In no way can it be genuine-- there's also a faint other circular cancel-- wonder if it was cleaned at some point in the past...
Also the Providence cover isn't pink-- must be a 65something....thanks, Ray
