3-margins, heavily scuffed, stain/repair? between S and T of the word Post, odd obliteration or heavy cancel of some sort. Looks genuine from what I can see.

Should it have letters below the "C" in cents?

Looks like "U W H A F" possibly... ???

I have a much larger file I am looking at.
I had to dumb the pic down massively to get it to load here.

The letters should be RWH&E for Rawdon, Wright, Hatch and Edson Banck Note Co. (New York) who were the printers.

Also, looks to have a tear at top between "S and T"

Well, first I'd like to say I am relieved that the consensus is that it is real!
The top margin is visible in the large jpg file, right along the top where the stamp was cut.
Just a slight remnant left.

To tell the truth, I can see much more in the scan than I can with my old eyes looking at the stamp.
The mark at the top going between the S and T, I didn't even see until scanning the stamp.
In the high def scan it appears to be a possible repair.
I don't intend to disturb the stamp and find out since it is resting nice a tight in a showgard mount.

Anyone have an idea of 'fair market value' of this stamp?
Not that I want to sell it, but I am curious.
I can't make heads or tails of the CV. The range varies wildly in the catalog I was looking at.
Then there is the flaw at the top, which like I said, is not obvious to the naked eye.

To help answer to your question please look at the thread that I have been posting to. You will find two number 1's that I will soon be listing in an upcoming sale. They will sell for between $225.00 and $250.00 maybe a little more. The one you are showing, somewhat less, maybe $150.00. https://goscf.com/t/16134
