I should complain to ebay Live Help, but I don't think I could go through all the waiting that involves.

Your thread topic is strongly worded,
yet it may be something to do with the way you have
set up your ebay account,
have you looked into this?

rod222, the only way to find out what's going on is to contact ebay Live Help. I'm simply not willing to waste 45 mins or more on this.

I guess I'll just spend my money on all the other items!

It is a rather large collection. Other than the items related to the Nazi era, I can see nothing to warrant censorship. For that matter, I don't get the restriction in Germany of seeing Nazi related materials. I am sure that many people remember vividly the period from 1933 to 1945.

someone should remind ebay that people that don't study history are bound to repeat it.

edit: I, too, can view it just fine.

I can see it all just fine too. A wide mix of mint and used stamps, labels, postal stationery, photos, publications and covers. Some of it is post WWII and Federal Republic as well as a few items from outside of Germany. There's one Zeppelin stamp that was partially covered up so hard to see condition. The lost colonies labels were present, but don't know if that was a full set. There's were a few labels and some beyond the back of book types I haven't seen before. Some of the mint stamps are in partial to full sheets. The photos from the scrap books looked interesting.

There must be something in your settings that is causing the block. I've had problems where ebay pulled an item because of a Hitler stamp despite that's it's fine to sell by ebay regulations even to German, France and Austria but never heard of a block, especially when it's being sold within your own country. This is why I sell such items on Delcampe where buyers and sellers are treated more like responsible adults.

Additional thought: The seller listed this lot in two categories. Jimjam, can you view any other lot in that second non-philatelic militia category? Try searching for that category and see if it is visible and if you are blocked. It may sound silly, but there might be an "age or parental restrictions" on certain categories. Again, check your settings.

Interesting collection. The only thing I can see, that stands out, that may be offensive to some is the letter punctuated 'Heil Hitler'. It is kind of sad, and I think dangerous that we restrict access to this sort of material because, as I_Love_Stamps says, 'people that don't study history are bound to repeat it.'
A friend of mine recently showed me an photograph she owns of Hitler and Hindenberg, autographed and dated 1933. Appearently her late father was a German soldier and found it in a burnt out house toward the end of the war. "No friend of Hitler" she says of her father. She's contacted several auction houses but no one will touch it. I guess the market is flat. Or, no pun intended, fraught with landmines.

jamesw: Tell your fried to contact Regency/Superior auctions out of St. Louis, MO. They'll auction it. Last year, a local antique auction house near me pulled a few Nazi items (a knife and some buttons) after they received complaints from some locals.

The collection is a bit overwhelming and international shipping a bit prohibitive but it's still worth looking into. This is truly a lifetime accumulation!

I live in Sydney and I had no trouble seeing all of it, I have no interest in it but it certainly has a lot of unusual stuff in it. I can see no reason for restricting it, it's history after all. Maybe some of the more explicit material has since been removed.

I can see it as well, no problem. This seller often has large German accumulations to sell, and I have been sorely tempted in the past.....No money now though!
