Sharp Grill Pic But Still Confused With # Of Points

Ok this is about as sharp of a grill pic you can get but I'm still confused on counting points. Do you count in between each row or each seperate mark? To me I count this as 14 across 16 down so I am guessing E grill. I don't have stamp so can't measure and its a shame it has the tear .

I am no expert but see 14x16 and you would count the points.

I've only just got my head round grills and yes that's a e grill 14 x 16 although you can see the points clearly it isn't a good impresion there is usually more depth to them in which you can see the tips of the points, the points on this grill points down some grills have the points going through the face of the stamp like the a, b, c, grills.

Razersedge, thanks for the link to swedishtiger's explanation of grills. I have very little understanding of same but now I have a little better grasp of it.

I am not convinced the grill is genuine. Maybe you can post an even better scan when you get it?

Then again the tear follows the grill columns which at least tell you the tear happened after the grill was applied.
