Sneeky you and I have been at stampoffers a long time...it has its good points and it certainly has its problems

Its still the best place on the Internet
to by stamps, at great prices, and very reasonable
shipping and handling charges.

You got that right, we've made some GREAT internet friends through the years thanks to the internet. Sorry to say we all have lost some of those friends through the years, but the chance of making more is always possible

Jake

Dan, we may have lost some good friends, but the legend continues, I still send Ship stamps, to Lord Billy-Bobs, grandson Tyler, and I always include a few motorcycle stamps for his daughter,

Tycobrat

Jake, its 9:30, I am up at 4 AM every day, I am out of the balcony
and going to sleep.

Please say hello to the CC mouse, and Tina for me..

Kudos to your Celtics, Hey Boston is becoming the sports capital of the country.

What Bob says is true..i have had folks I met on Stampoffers come visit me from as far away as Alberta,Canada and we put each other up in our homes as if we had known each other all our lives..we are stamp collectors and share a common bond !!

Sneeky you may be on to something that perhaps its the people..look how everyone helps each other out here..when stampoffers started it was just collectors getting together..but then the auction made it a business..i guess its the business mentality !!

I am sure this is not the only such site around but, it is the one we are all in and it seems to work for us .
We can learn and purchase stamps . Be supportive to each other ,and become friends all in the comfort of our own home as we sit with our chicken and chips..
I am lucky to have a friend close by to help me . If it were just him and me I can see that this hobby would not have taken off so well and so fast, for us.
The net is all possitive as far as I can see .
The local stamp shops here would be gone the way of most other things that don't have a large following. Sure you can buy online but you have more people starting to go to the few shops that are left.

The internet has definatly had a great effect, and has made me start collecting stamps and coins SERIOUSLY. before starting seriously due to these community sites I just put all my stamps in a shoebox and different and world coins in a tin!

My dad says: 'We would have LOVED this when we were kids ( ebay), all I could do was swap with other kids and go to the stamp dealer every now and then'
