That's very cool, Phil
Are those actual wax seals? Any idea what the S.S. might stand for?

So, curiosity killed the cat... but what is the significance of 88 on wax seal for a 1938 cancel. Must be something.

I'm a little curious as the the dates it appears that it was entered at Buenos Aires on July 29 and received into New York registry on August 21. Doesn't that seems to be a long time spread for a registered cover?
Very nice markings and seals.
