I know this is an early 1900s revenue from France, but can anyone give me more info? Again, Scott's is lacking.
thanks

to include Quittance (Receipt)

Cheers :)

Look out for similar revenues featuring Demeter (Ceres)
the goddess of the harvest, and that lass with
the bonnet of snakes, Medusa.

gris = grey

I have about 20 revenues of the 10c similar to yours,
but not one of the other values.

Here is a similar revenue,
Medusa this time
Engraved by
Eugene Andre Oudine (1810-1887)

Now what is a woman doing,
when those looking at her, turn to stone,
doing, wearing earings and a pearl necklace?

Now there is an enigma.

Just because you're a Gorgon, doesn't mean you can't be stylish.
I've looked closely at my stamp, but don't see an engraver name as clearly as yours.
All I can see in the lower right corner is R ? A S ? E V
Any ideas?

Sorry, meant to post a picture, but had to run off to watch the Woman's World Cup. Canada lost to Germany 2-1 (sad face!)

That is Tassets name James (TASSET)
engraved by Ernest Paulin Tasset (1839-1919)

Yes, I was watching the history of the women's world cup
last evening, Canada snatched a win over Germany or China
a few years back as I recall?

P TASSET is clearer on the 25c

Not that I am aware of,
what you want is Forbin Catalogue 1915
It used to sell on CD Rom
but even that has disapeared IIRC
Not sure where you would get it now.
