Hi to all

I thought I would post this one, as King George VI on the right hand stamp has a smile similar to the Joker played by the late Heath Ledger.
Also around the right ear is a bit fuzzy also.
Possibly a colour shift?
Regards,
Horamakhet

I don't collect NZ or KGVI, so I'm way out of my area, but I would hazard to guess it could be a wet vs. dry printing method?

I don't think this could be a colour shift because the stamp was printed in only one colour in the first place.

The Peace set generally seems to be a fly-specker's delight, but neither Gibbons nor the old Commonwealth Five Reigns catalogue records any varieties for the 1d value. Which isn't to say there aren't any: apparently there were 107,840,000 1d stamps printed. Plenty of scope for flaws and retouches to develop on the plate. The Campbell Patterson catalogue might go into more detail.

It also appears that there are some differences in the clouds in the right stamp. The portrait is definitely strange looking.

On my screen the clouds look horizontal in on the left and diagnal on the right stamp, (referring to the top left of each stamp) but when I click on the image to enlarge it, they both look the same, only with slight difference in the smile and the fuzziness of the ear...Rohumpy, what did you see in the clouds that were different? Perhaps slightly darker shading in the right stamp? Or are you seeing what I see?
