A previous post asking questions about Scott 1608 mis-registrations had me looking at other period stamps from that era that had notable color shifts.

Here's a sample of five (5) Scott 1519 Coil Stamps where the red stripes in the flag are literally all over the place, and the red color shift is also noticeable in the centering of the red words "UNITED STATES" around the blue "10c":

Just another interesting study in color mis-registrations from the early 1970's.

As a follow-up to this thread, I was looking through a packet of used stamps and saw this one. I put it beside a "normal" 1519 as a comparison. I don't think the red smudge on the right stamp is a cancellation due to its being parallel to the perf line. Is this just a line-pair line gone rogue?

Not a line-pair line per se - these were printed on the Huck press which doesn't produce conventional joint lines, however you often see partial lines and messes like this. (and I don't mean mess in a bad way)

Oh, I think it is a keeper, no matter how messy it appears. But it sure does look like this issue created a whole lot of collectibles.

WT - not trying to put yours down, but keep looking as they are known with much greater shifts.
