hello again..it is me a man with a million questions.

i hope you do not mind me always asking.
i was sorting and found these two c114 copies.
i am not certain which copy is how the stamp should look.
i did not see reference to a difference.

you are most likely correct...but would it not seem that the black would also show some fading too?

i was putting these two stamps and noticed the the black seems very similar on both copies.

Could also be a slight color misregistration in the printing process. I'm looking specifically at the bottom left of the stamp. A magnification of that area may reveal a slight misregistration that would account for the color change.

I posted some color misregistrations recently found on other modern issues and although interesting, there is limited premium value to them. More or less a "freak" rather than an "error". Certainly a legitimate conversation piece, but they offer little in terms of a valuable "find".

thank you for your input...i found it interesting also...i never really think I will find any real errors of value but I agree an interest converstion item.

Coloured inks fade at different rates. Often you'll see a poster left outside and the blue and black seem to be the last thing to go.

Sometimes when I soak them and use hot water the newer ones do seem to fade. Sometimes detergents used will effect them also. So who knows it could be a combination of both.?
