Hi, I am new here and looks like a great place to be. I am learning about overprint stamps but have some difficulty identifying some. Here is a photo of a Mexico stamp but I don't kwow what the symbol means.

Well, Howdy Sue!

In the Scott catalog it called this the "Villa" monogram. I did some googling and came up with this...

Wow SueStamps you jumped right in here. Glad to have you with us and a great monogrammed overprint. Oldtriguy1960 gave you a pretty good layout of the overprint but I just wanted to say howdy and hope that you stayed with us and posted often. Welcome!

Thanks everyone for replying. How do I reply to each person's message? I don't see a "reply" button anywhere in or near their message.

Also, I see that I only have a limited "avitar" choices but I see other people have different ones, how the heck do I get a personal photo as my avitar? I finally figured out how to put up my profile photo, so that's one less question, lolol... Thanks
Sue

Hello SueStamps, welcome!

I see you've got the hang of asking for an avatar already, good.

Neat overprint, haven't seen before now. Looks like a monogram, initials intertwined.

Hi Everyone,
I love Overprint stamps. Is there a section for them?
I have an off topic question, how to I start getting "posts" I show that I have zero posts.
I have more overprints I have questions about. I will go upload them and see if I can find a section so I don't post to the wrong place. This is great fun! Thanks everyone!
Sue

Welcome Sue,
No section for overprints, so just go to the upper left and find "All forums", click on it, then scroll down to General Philatelic Discussions and click on "main stamp collecting forum" and finally click on "New Topic" to start a new thread on overprints.

PS Click on the "Search" button and type in overprints. You will find a lot of interesting threads there.

I did it, LOL..
I created a new topic about OverPrints.

I have a bunch of unusual ones if anyone wants to take a peek or can help me identify them. I just uploaded some Oriental overprints and one that looks like a red wreath.

welcome! To answer your question about why you had 0 posts earlier, it is because posts don't count in the "Introduce yourself here" topic forum. Glad to see your excitement about stamps and interesting overprints.
