Sharksfan11... Sorry to crush your dreams, but this is not an official stamp issue of Benin. This is just a prime sample of modern bogus stamp issue. Similar bogus items (with attractive topicals) from Benin, Malawi and couple of other African countries seem to be quite plenty.
Definitely not worth $10. Maybe 1-2 cents worth...
PS. If I recall properly, Disney has limited the use of their characters in postage stamps heavily in last decades. I think that all the officially approved Disney stamps (especially post year 2000) should have one thing not visible on this item - the copyright mark followed by word Disney
Wait until August 19th and the US Postal Service will issue this one, along with stamped cards and all kinds of other promotional items related to the series:
sharksfan, I also am on the lookout for inexpensive CARS stamps for my Route 66 collection. I can't wait until next month for the 5 Disney Pixar stamps to me released.
The Pixar characters are real cute! This is another reason why I stopped collecting new issues after 2000. Technically speaking they are valid U.S. Postage stamps but every time I see another one like this I think its just another label. But then again, isn't that what a stamp is? A label to indicate postage has been paid? Sure it is. Nevertheless, in my opinion, a U.S. Postage stamp should commemorate an item or event of importance, a person of remembrance, something of significance, not a cartoon character.
I'm sure some may agree with me and many more disagree and that's OK, everyone has their opinion.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. (The exact & entire wording of the 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution)
What says American freedom & spirit better than 2 best friends on a road trip together? These stamp issues can help bring more kids & the kid at heart to stamp collecting. Albeit they also do not commemorate a significant (fill in the blank) of America.
