There are apparently four (4) sheet varieties to the above issue ... I have three of them. Based on the ones I have, I believe them to be:

Scott 3750 (V Plate Number) dated 2004:

Scott 3751 3752 with microprint (P Plate Number) dated 2006 (re-issue):

Scott 3753 (S Plate Number) dated 2007:

Do I have these identified correctly? If so, the one I'm missing is Scott 3752 which was issued in 2005 and said to have "USPS" microprinting. As it's the only one I seem to be missing, can anyone post a scan of that stamp to show what it is I need to look out for? Is it dated 2005? What plate number letter was used? Where is the microprinting located?

There are distinct color differences between the three issues scanned above. Interestingly, the oldest of these issues (Scott 3750) I just picked up at the post office last week when I needed some small denomination stamps for postage.

Thanks for whatever further information you can provide.

I did a little more research on this and apparently the difference between Scott 3751 (shown above) and 3752 (re-issues) both contain "P" plate numbers and both stamps contain the dates 2006, but the Scott 3752 apparently is a "large date" versus the Scott 3751 "small date" variety. (Those date varieties start to sound more like coin collecting.)

Anyway, does anyone know where I would look for the "USPS" microprinting that is said to be on Scott 3752?

wt1,

I see USPS printed to the upper right of "y" in Navajo Jewelry. Small, but still visible to the naked eye - in person at least.

WT1,

The first 3 of the 2c Navajo stamps (1 from 2004 and 2 from 2006)had different Scott #s originally.
But then they did some renumbering...

No. 3749 becomes No. 3750
No. 3749A becomes No. 3751
No. 3749B becomes No. 3752

and then the 2007 version came out and it got Scott # 3753.

Here's the easy way to tell what's what:

3750- 2004 year date - no micro print
3751- 2006 year date-large date, no micro print
3752- 2006 year date- small date, with micro print on the right
3753- 2007 year date - with micro print on the left

And here's a pic showing the two 2006 dates - you can see the first one in the pic is just a little bigger than the other one. I also circled the areas where the "USPS" micro print is located.

Hope this helps.

Oh, and there is a year 2011 2c Navajo stamp too. It is Scott # 3758B and has water activated gum, but I don't have one of these yet, so no pic.

Thanks so much for the detail information on these stamps. I blew up one stamp of what I thought was Scott 3751 and found it was 3752 (small date with microprint) as shown below:

By the way, I do have the WAG, Scott 3758B, 2011 dated issue, but that one is easy to identify because it was produced in coil form:

Now I guess all I have to look out for is Scott 3751 (large 2006 date, no microprint)!

The USPS sure didn't make this very easy!
