Just a crazy thought...

Does anyone have the Beast's stamp collection?

This would consist of the issue of every country numbered 666 by Scott or your favorite catalog!

Seeing these are supposed to be Apocalyptic times and all...

That was supposed to be 'be' not 'by' -- don't know why all the typos always show up later.

Fascinating idea. At first, I thought you were referring to the Marvel comics character (one of the X-men) who is a highly educated professor. I wonder what he would collect?

Real name: Henry "Hank" Peter McCoy
Occupation: (current) Adventurer, (former) Biochemist, college lecturer
Identity: Publicly known
Legal status: Citizen of the United States with no criminal record

Scott#666 is an olive green 8˘ Grant. issued in May 5th 1929, it may have a "Kansas" overprint/precancel. Sorry, no scan.

Interesting topic. I can't imagine there is a collector out there building a '666' collection. Lol.

I think US 666 is one of the Kansas/Nebraska overprints -- going from memory.

Yes, US 666 is the 8 cent olive green Grant of 1923 overprinted Kans. in 1929. At $90.00/$70.00 in Scott 2010, it's not likely to be something almost anyone can pull up and scan.

Satan's Mushroom -- 666 on that Danish stamp? That worked out very well with the Gibbons Catalogue. Must be some kind of conspiracy behind it.

OK Modern, since no one else has accepted your challenge, I will show you mine:

The centering is less than perfect -- as are many of my examples in this series. I've had these several years. I tried to collect MNH, but these have been hinged. The premium for MNH just wasn't worth it to me. I rarely look at the back of my stamps.

I'm going to post the rest of the series in another thread.

KirkS

P.S. in the scan, there's a bit of a "diagonal line" near his ear and collar, but it's not the stamp. It's the clear mount itself.
