I have a group of leather postcards, both used and
fresh, that I am thinking of offering in the auction
forum. Is there any interest among members here for
that sort of thing? I read somewhere that they are
valued in the 5-15 dollar range. Is that correct?
Also, are they more valueable used or unused?

All of my used ones are franked with the 1c Franklin
series of 1902 stamp...

Thoughts?

Apropos of leather postcards, I found one in the bottom of what Rod likes to call a phossick box. It had a nice burned image of a cartoon referencing Port Arthur, TX - I snooped online and found a museum in Port Arthur and mailed it to them. I figured they might want it (they did reply and said they didn't have such a thing in their holdings). Funniest part was the message written on the postcard, a guy from New York City who couldn't stand it in Port Arthur because the mosquitoes were eating him alive. ha ha

I think the topic, stamp, addressee/addressor and postal markings would be taken into consideration. I bet someone collects them regardless though.

I am with stamperdude. No appeal for them being leather, but perhaps some appeal based on other accidental qualities (sorry for the philosphyspeak).

I'd love to see scans of those postcards.

Yeah, I'll put some together this weekend for scanning.
They are all pretty much the same, just either used or unused.

Here's an unsigned August 6, 1907 leather postcard from Kingston, Ontario to a married woman in Melville Cross, Ontario with the message "You auto be with me in Kingston".

The stamp is SC 90 issued July 1st, 1903.

After posting, I realized that the topic appears under the USA stamp forum. Please forgive me, eh!

I think that would be great. I'll asked someone first if that will be valuable. Well, thanks any way. I'll think of it.
