I posted this on a different thread and copied it here.
My latest RN series check. But, it's not a RN, its a look-a-like. Just another of the odd-ball things that when I see it, I'll try and get it. In fact, there were 2 going for sale at the same time and I tried to get both but I was sniped at the last second.
This check is from the "Dakota Territory" and the RN look-a-like has the words "Dakota" on the bottom left going down and "Territory" on the bottom right going up. Dakota was a territory of the U.S. from 3/2/1861 until 11/2/1889, the date on the check 4/5/1887.
Does anyone know what the center is supposed to be? I can't make it out nor can I find any documentation about it. The "RN" looks very much like the G1 series.
