I am delighted with this 1928 cover found in a junk box for 25 cents. It is nothing terribly rare but it has so many different things going for it.

There is the handstamp for the 3Oth reunion of veterans of the Spanish-American War.

There is a cancellation for the Opening day of this reunion.

There is the use of the TB Cinderella.

It is addressed to an officer of Spanish descent serving in Texas.

The Airmail stamp is neatly cancelled and the slogan relates to using Airmail Services and includes the depiction of a quirky little bi-plane.

All around there is a lot happening with it.

One question regarding this cover for U.S. military post collectors.

Is the backstamp considered a military postmark?

Wow! An eye for detail. While I like cinderellas, I never think to really look at them.

No, it's not French. Text is Spanish so just a "borrowed" design.

There are two types of seperation for sure, on the left side and the bottom. The right margin is a very clean cut - possibly the edge of the sheet? The top is not clean (paper fibers showing so not seperated with a blade) but does not really appear to be a roulette. Small sheet top margin? that would make this the upper right hand stamp of the sheet.

I wonder if the monument is still standing or whether the commies took it down? Guess I'll google it.

Just checked the internet and apparently the monument still stands but it was damaged by individuals after the Bay of Pigs invasion.
