Another gem apparently. This envelope measures 122mm x 71mm, is a faded lavender or lilac, I can't make out a watermark as the back flap is sealed, but it is empty. The stamp is a #64 A25 3cent Washington. The cancellation looks like New Berne NC on May 14(?) but I can't find a year. The "bulls-eye" cancel looks like it cut into the stamp. The stamp itself is quite faded so I can't even guess at the original color - by the way.... WHAT is "pigeon blood pink"? If I remember from some earlier reading, this is considered a "ladies envelope", not that I can find that information now though. Any help would be sincerely appreciated.

If , as you say "The stamp itself is quite faded so I can't even guess at the original color - by the way.... WHAT is "pigeon blood pink"?" how do you know its a 64 and not a 65? The colors are the key determiner to the A25.

Hi Art, OK I see what you're saying. It is very hard for me to tell as "pink" and "rose" are so close in shade and there are only a few small areas where there does not appear to be much "fading". Will see if I can find someone local to better ID it. Is there a chart that has the actual colors or samples of what the colors are? I still can't find anything that defines the "pigeon blood pink". Thanks
