Picked up an assortment of many US cut squares and circles which for the most part I can find or somewhat catalog but these 2 caught my eye . I know I've seen Husseys on other items but would appreciate any info on these 2.

If the Hussey's example is genuine (and there were a lot of fakes), I believe it would be cataloged as a Local Stamp 87LE5 (25-cent gold on blue paper) issue of 1883 with a Scott Specialized 2002 "unused" value of $4; "used" at $40; "on cover" at $400. Note how the values multiply depending on how the stamp is found!

The second looks to me to merely be a cut square indicia off of an early (1940's or 1950's perhaps) prestamped business envelope as typically seen today as a "Postage Paid" indicia. The mailings were probably in the thousands, so value is next to nil. Not referenced in any catalog that I am aware of. Probably no way to find out the sender, either, unless someone happened to keep Permit No. records from Detriot for that period, which is highly doubtful.

I didn't realize the husseys was an actual stamp-- figured it was a pre printed envelope or wrapper type situation. Not my collecting area so it may have to go up for trade.
