As most of you know I have been shopping for new inventory, however this one is for me. I was bidding on both copies but missed the other one.

Brazer #57aEb, 8c Eagle essay in black on stiff bond paper, offered here is one of the only two known copies ever recorded example of this essay, three large margins, close at bottom, thin spots, very fine appearance; 1991 PF certificate.

A couple of questions,
what is "Brazer" and "Bond" paper?
Thanks.

Googling:
Bond paper is a high quality durable writing paper similar to bank paper but having a weight greater than 50 g/m2. The name comes from it having originally been made for documents such as government bonds.

There are at least three of them known to exist. Go to the VSC in the Expert Opinions folder and read the "Rare Essay?" thread started on June 9, by Bill Weiss.

Rod, you got the bond paper. Brazer is a catalogue for proofs and essays from the work of Clarence Brazer. The catalogue was start from his research about 1910.

Ron,

That is one awesome stamp/essay! Was the other one in better condition? What sites do you use to look for these rarities?

Art!
Actually this one and the other went up on Spink Shreves Galleries. The other one is nicer as far as margins, but it is stuck to a piece of white card stock. Also it went for about 50% more than I bid. At another auction I just grabbed six different colors of the 63TC's. I will post them a little later.
