Anyone pickup the new Disney Pixar "Send a Hello" stamps today? And for those looking forward to 2012, Beyond the Perf has just announced what the 2012 Disney Pixar "Send a Smile" stamps will look like, which will include Nemo!

I tried to walk to a post office to get these. I googled post offices near where my dorm is (it's my second day). I found one several blocks to the northeast, so I started out walking.
Half an hour later when I got to where I needed to be, I didn't find a Post Office but a Drop Box XP . Guess I'll try again tomorrow. |

I picked up a few sheets on Friday. I had a couple covers and postcards serviced at 4 different PO's. I also sent off for several FDOS pictorial postmarks. When those return I'll send a packet for the FDOI postmark. Got a couple unofficial cancels arrive in the mailbox on Saturday! Hopefully, there will be a few more waiting for me today. |

Quote: Got a couple unofficial cancels arrive in the mailbox on Saturday! I did, too! Not very appealing with a spray-on cancel and an "unofficial" postmark, but nevertheless, it is a true "first day" cancel, as it could not have been created except to be placed in the mailstream on the first day of release. Since most modern-day "first day of issue" cancels are prepared days or weeks after the event, they are becoming less relevant: |

Hey that looks like a sea turtle above Nemo. I guess I will have to be finding Squirt for my collection. |

I love these Disney stamps and got a sheet last year! I love the Wall-E stamp most of all. I guess that's because I've watched it a million times with the grandkids. thanks for this thread! gussyboy1 |

I love these stamps too, and I like the 2012 ones even better. I guess I know what one of my 2012 US stamp purchases will be! |

UPDATED INFORMATION AS OF 04/25/2012: The 2012 edition of Disney Pixar Stamps entitled "Mail a Smile" will be issued on June 1, 2012 in Orlando, Florida (at least according to Beyond the Perf as shown at this link): http://www.beyondtheperf.com/stamp-...s/mail-smileThe exact date of issue has been subject to some confusion as it has never been laid down to an exact date until today. It was listed in previous USPS publications as being scheduled for "May 2012" and, I believe, Linn's Stamp News and VSC had it listed as May 31, 2012, but now it seems that USPS Beyond the Perf has indicated a June 1, 2012 issue date. Stay tuned...as it may change again! |

I was sorting some recent envelopes and came across this... It seems to have double perforations on two sides? Is this normal (it came on a stamp order, I would expect the seller would've noticed if it was a variety...) Compared to another copy. |

According to Scott, "adjacent horizontal or vertical stamps have selvage between the stamps." The note applies to the Send A Hello and Mail A Smile panes. You have a stamp with the vertical selvage strips still attached.

I had experienced using those Disney Pixar Stamps for postage and found the perforated selvage to be a bit annoying. Either you placed the entire stamp (with selvage) on your mail (if you can keep it together) or you wind up with a bunch of sticky perforated strips of selvage that are a mess to clean up or discard into a wastebasket. |
