Looks like Scott 25 or 36. That would be red brown as opposed to brown. It was probably rouletted on some sides (it appears to have some rouletting on the left side). Someone else with more knowledge may correct me, but that is my thought. - Jeff

Yes, Lake-brown. This colour was only issued rouletted or perforated. I'd say SG 42, issued 1865, which is verified by the cds.
