How many remembered today's first day of sale of the Edward Hopper Stamp? Here's a portion of mine:



I find it interesting that the USPS can backprint a whole story about stamps for the Send a Hello, Go Green and even for Owney the Postal Dog, but on these stamps the back is entirely blank (except for the requisite copyright notice, bar code and USPS logo). Couldn't they have thought of a nice write up to put on this issue?

In any event, the stamp is very attractive and will look quite nice on an album page or on a cover.

I forgot the stamp, but I do like Hopper's work. I have a coffee mug with Nighthawks on it. And I have a large print of the work on this stamp.

So much for my efforts in requesting a First Day of Sale cancel from San Marino, California.

Interesting that the undesired spray-on cancel is all that way from Santa Clarita, CA, some 100-120 miles away:
