Can someone help me identify the color varieties shown in these two 10-cent Postage Due precancels?
I know the Chicago precancel is quite common, but I have few examples of such significant color variations on a similar stamp. Looking at the Scott catalog these stamps came in Vermillion, Deep Claret, Rose Carmine, Rose Red and Carmine Lake. I am thinking the second stamp may be the Carmine Lake variety.
Would anyone care confirm or else lead me to other possible options?
