Can any body help identify these two stamps? Are they even precancels?

You have the rare invisible paper and ink variety. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you if they are precanceled, because they used invisible ink for the precancels.

Yeah, you know we need a pic. Otherwise, there are like 300,000+ stamps to guess from.

The first stamp is Federated States of Micronesia Scott #546a, the "Stealth Fighter" issue.

The second is a Netherlands Indies postage due: J42a, the 1g light blue with invisible gum. Apparently the invisible gum was applied a little bit too liberally and soaked through to the face.

I'm not an expert on precancels, so that I don't know.

Yes, precancels - Chicago IL and Greenville TX, both common. Keep posting, we love pictures!

Thanks guys. The Greenville precancel letters are shorter than those illustrated in the catalogue. Hence the posting. I

I checked the catalogue today, and it pays to read the footnotes before you seek outside help: the letters range from 3 1/2mm to 4mm.

by the way, the teasing is ok by me, but mt wife is the one struggling to post the pics. Go easy on her. She is the only help I have. My thanks to the Illini Precancel Club for hosting the PSS meeting in Middleton. I was there Monday and tuesday morning. It was a great meeting. My first. I got to put some faces to some names I have been e-mailing etc. I plan on going to Albuquerque (my home town) next year.
