Today's happy acquisition is a set of 6 Trans-Mississippi stamps. All in reasonably decent condition. Cost me $21.00.

Another 6 tenants filled in.

Great set Dave. Do you know if the catalog values would be different for a stamp with a straight edge, everything else being the same?

Cheers
Ram

For stamps with a moderate to high premiums, straight edges usually sell for 10% or less of catalog.

Very high premium stamps will usually go above 10%; how much higher depends on the issue and other factors.

Nice addition to your collection Dave. Engraved single/bicolor stamps rock.

I actually look for the ones with the cut-line on them and think quite highly of them despite what the Scott catalog suggests. Straight edges, on the other hand, I can live with or without but they certainly don't discourage me from buying them if its a stamp I need and in good condition.

Nice grab Dave. The straight lines should not matter much, nor the heavy cancellations. The group looks great and the price was right. Nice find!
