Some time ago I indicated that I had a couple of Number Ones displayed in a couple of antique PO Box dorrs. I finally got around to taking a picture of the two.

I should mention that the last patent date is 1908.

My local PO still has the boxes from the early days of the PO (in use if you can believe it). THey are truly works of art. The local office is living on borrowed time and will close in the near future, though no date has been set. I am hoping they will have a method of selling off the boxes. I would truly like to have box 13 since that was my grandfather's box number from the 1930's onward.

That's really nice! Just don't let those stamps get to much direct light, especially US-1, you don't want them to fade.
