I got these squares with the revenues which I already showed in another topic. I am not sure are they have any value at all, but the star and the (Maltese?) cross cancellations looks nice... although seems that couple of them are very, very old... maybe the early ones? I will appreciate all comments...

You have a very nice collection there. Too bad some are cut so close to the design. I recently learned that the old stamp albums from the early days of collecting actually encouraged people to trim the stamps close in order to fit into album page spaces. Of course, modern day collecting has all but discouraged that, so many of the older varieties are similar to your examples. Unfortunately, just as with stamps, any of the examples that cut into the design of the embossed envelope square are typically considered "fillers" and only worth a fraction of their value had they been undamaged.

As for cancellations, indeed the Star and Maltese Cross cancels are likely worth a premium. I very much like the complete Atchison, Kansas cancellation from 1900, even though it may not be worth a great deal. Still nice examples for a envelope cut square collection.

Nice little collection. The Atchison cancel is from Hampden Stamp Canceling Machine Co. Model B-8c. The Hampden is one of the scarcer cancels but is worth much more on complete covers.

I think they look great and especially the cancels! I have a few of those myself but on full cover and card. Very nice!

A very good beginning. The items cut too close will be difficult to sell. As mentioned earlier, todays standard is a much wider margin around the pattern. Postal card cut squares are even harder to sell, as the
collectors of such items are relitively slim. Good sampling of cancels and usuages.
