Hello guys,
I like the fun you are having. Anyway, is the American Kestrel the same bird specie as the Guatemalan Quetzal?
Thanks

South American and north American.

Gigi..They should be different species. The
Kestrel is a falcon type bird, found from Alaska
down to the tip of South America. The quetzal is
show type bird with long and colorful plumage and
is found in the rain forests areas of Central &
South America.

Here's a link to Wikipedia's article on Quetzals:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quetzal

They are beautiful birds and remind me a bit of the group of bower birds from New Guinea.
