Hi David,

They're known as "hooded circles" (or sometimes in older literature as "scrolls").


They were used in London, Liverpool and various Irish cities and sometimes for special purposes such as late fees, registration and parcel post.

How does "Tel Address" work? anyone?

If someone sends a telegram to "Bissula London"
it automatically gets delivered to Messrs Boehm?
Sort of a 19th cent email?
