Do you realise what you have?

Do you know who Stanley Phillips was?

I am guessing here, but a good guess I reckon,
that cover is written in Stanley Phillips' own hand
he has addressed the cover to himself at "the strand london"

You have a cover written by a philatelist who has signed
The distinguished roll of philately.

An absolute gem for mine....(but still a guess)

It makes sense. According to Wikipedia, 391 Strand was the home of Stanley Gibbons when this letter was mailed.

Here you go Smauggie,
scanned from my library.

The very first Stanley Gibbons stamp Jourmal in 1927
Volume 1 number 1
and look who's name adorns the cover....

If I catch any of his handwriting, I'll let you know.
