Not the lawn

Giving a little time, in helping others
in the community
Delivering "Meals on Wheels" (MOW)

It's great to serve others with time and assistance
and hope other stampers are volunteers,
it's good for the soul.

A first day cover to go along with the Meals on Wheels "Community Welfare" Stamp Series:

Here in the US, I am quite familiar with the St. Vincent dePaul Society, The Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels, but I must admit I had to look up the "Life Be In It" group as it seems as though that organization is unique to Australia:

I'm sure your contribution to Meals on Wheels will be most appreciate. A day away from the stamps that you will remember.

Some deliver meals,
some moderate on stamp groups

"Life be in it" Norm was the Aussie "couch potato"
overweight and lazy, I didn't like the ad campaign
much, Norm was a bit over the top,
but IIRC was a very successful campaign.

Being a Cinderella collector, I just may have an example

I am happy for who you are. There seems to be a real caring inside the rod222 and I am sure that many people, not just the SCF family, are better off for it. Seems to me you might be more that just a stamp forum bedrock. No pedestal, just a reality check. :)

Good on ya mate! Its small efforts by many that make the big wheels go round and round.
Might I just add that with the global economy so bleak its very likely that local food banks in all of our communities are both in higher demand as well as lower on donations. Only takes a few minutes to dig out a few can goods and most churches and schools will accept the donation and direct it properly.

Indeed, I see things getting tougher too,
the biggest drain is accomodation costs,
it can take up to 70% of a single income.
I was surprised to see decent accomodation
in our country towns very low, some still at $70 per week
but city folk cannot access them because if you move to
a centre of lower employment, you lose social security.

The struggling sometimes can't take a trick.
