I just went out and bought the civil war souvenir sheet. The sheet is DOUBLE SIDED! There are 8 stamps ont he front, I believe and 2 on the back.

I think the USPS is expecting us to buy two of them, so we can mount each side. If they were planning that, why not just make two different sheets and be done with it.

Still trying to figure out how to mount this thing. Should I buy a Showguard clear mount and cut a hole in the page, ors should I just get a clear archival sheet and put it in the album where this stamp is supposed to go?

Has anyone else given this any thought?

I bought the civil war sheet as well. I just put it in a vario stock page and called it a day. I know I can only view one side of it, but I'm okay with that for now.

I might get duped into buying it. I just use the clear Vario pages. I have a triangle shaped Jamestown stamp sheet that's like that. For the new stuff I'll only buy the mint panes. (Scott #4136)

I'm just winding back into Stamp Collecting after almost 10 years off, so this is the first 2 sided sheet I have bought. The only people buying these sheets are stamp collectors. Do they have to make it so difficult for us??

I think they figure that folks will mount the graphic side with the examples and use the others for postage.

Exactly what I have done. I have, of course, saved an entire pane as a full intact specimen, but when it comes to placing them in an album or mount, I have taken another sheet, used one side for postage and removed all selvage, etc., and have simply mounted the one side of the pane in an album. It seems to me there is no practical reason to have to keep stamps covered within a mount just because the USPS decides to print the issue on two sides.
