Type-3 rotary printing, so either SC455 or SC492 depending on watermark.

Thanks for the tip..will embark on a new journey to try and find watermark.Upon further magnification there are 2 lines on the ribbon.Hmmm..

Do I see evidence of trimmed perfs on the bottom right? The bottom straight edge looks rough by comparison to the top; Bottom appears to me to have had the perfs trimmed.

Wil that is a great observation. I found all these stamps in garage of home I purchased,years later! If stamps had been tampered with it would have been before the previous collectors I'm sure. Will have to have it looked at in person.

The 2 cent rotary Type III was only produced for coil applications (540 and 546 are coil waste) and is not a canadate for trimming. The only way to fake a Type III coil would be to trim the much higher valued 540 Perf 11X10.
