I've posted this stamp on an unrelated thread, but I'm curious about the colour. You won't be able to tell from the scan, for reasons discussed many many times on this site, but trust me when I tell you that this 1907 Jamestown, which is listed as carmine in Scott's has a decidedly brighter cast to it. Compared to other US carmine stamps of the era that I've got, this one is very pink.
My question is to those with a Scott's Specialized Catalogue, are there other colours listed for this issue? 'cause I'm pretty sure this ain't carmine.

The colour I see is Bright Rose [or thereabouts]
But nearer to Carmine than Pink, that's for sure.

My Scott Specialized Catalog recognizes #329 as having a variety of both "Carmine" and "Bright Carmine". No special identifying Scott number nor any change in value for either variety.
